In 2009, you could not buy custom-fit car mats online. We found that strange. So we started with one idea: mats that actually fit. Not universal. Not "close enough." Precise to the millimetre. We started small. A few templates, a piece of carpet, and a knife. We cut the first mats ourselves on the floor and packed them by hand for our customers. No grand plan. Just one clear conviction: a precise fit will always beat a generic solution. We grew step by step. Ten webshops. Fifteen countries. Over a million customers. Not by scaling fast, but by getting better every day.
For years, we delivered precision without a brand name. Good products, sharp fit, strong service. In 2022, that changed. We made a deliberate choice to build something that lasts. We only make what's ordered, which sometimes means waiting an extra day. It also means less waste, no overproduction, and top quality at a fair price. We don't stand still. A product built to last is a product that does not end up as waste. That is not a separate principle. It is the same one. By producing only what's ordered, we already cut our waste by over 50%. We also made the switch from rubber to TPE for our rubber mats. 100% recyclable, and a better product on top of it. All Kovvar mats already use recycled materials.
